Important Emergency Notice
Able Social Housing is not an emergency service and cannot guarantee immediate accommodation. If someone is in immediate danger, at risk of harm, or needs urgent medical or police assistance, contact emergency services immediately on 999. If someone is homeless or at risk of homelessness, they should also contact their local council homelessness team as soon as possible.
Emergency accommodation provides a safe place to stay for people who cannot remain in their current housing or have nowhere suitable to live. Our service combines furnished accommodation with practical support, helping vulnerable adults regain stability while longer term housing options are considered.
A Safe Place to Stay
Emergency accommodation gives individuals access to a secure, furnished place to live when their current housing situation is unsafe, unstable or no longer available. It provides immediate breathing space and protection during a difficult or uncertain period.
What is Emergency Accommodation?
Practical Support Included
Residents receive more than just a room. Our team provides housing related support, regular wellbeing contact and practical guidance based on assessed needs, helping each person settle in, manage their accommodation and access relevant services.
A Route Towards Stability
Emergency accommodation is intended to provide short term stability while the next stage is considered. We work with the resident and any professionals involved to support progress towards greater independence and a more suitable longer term housing arrangement.
Experiencing Homelessness
People who are homeless, sleeping rough or staying somewhere temporary without a secure tenancy may need urgent access to safe, suitable emergency accommodation and practical support today.
Vulnerable Adults in Housing Crisis
Adults facing a sudden breakdown in housing, support networks or personal circumstances may need a stable temporary home while their immediate needs and longer term options are considered.
Who May Need Emergency Accommodation?
We understand that urgent situations arise where stability and safety are at risk. Our emergency housing support is designed to review enquiries from those facing immediate housing challenges.
Immediate Risk of Homelessness
Individuals who are sofa surfing, facing eviction or likely to lose their current home may need temporary accommodation and practical support before their situation becomes more urgent.
Low to Medium Support Needs
People who can live with some independence but need practical guidance, regular wellbeing contact or help managing everyday responsibilities may benefit from supported emergency accommodation.
Leaving Unsafe Accommodation
People who must leave their current home because of domestic abuse, exploitation, violence, intimidation or another serious concern may require safe emergency accommodation at short notice.
No Safe Home Available
Individuals whose living arrangements have ended unexpectedly and who have no safe or suitable home to return to may need temporary accommodation and practical support at short notice.
What Our Emergency Accommodation Support Includes
At Able Social Housing, we believe emergency accommodation should provide more than simply a roof over someone’s head. We offer safe, well managed accommodation alongside practical and compassionate support shaped around each person’s circumstances, challenges and individual needs.
From the moment someone is referred, our team takes the time to understand what will help them feel safe, settled and supported. We aim to go above and beyond by helping residents access essential services, manage everyday responsibilities and move towards greater stability, while ensuring they are treated with dignity, respect and genuine care throughout their stay.
