Supported Housing That Helps People Move Forward
We provide safe accommodation alongside practical, person centred support for adults who may be facing homelessness, instability or difficult life circumstances.
Every person is different, so our approach is shaped around their individual needs, strengths and goals. We aim to create a stable environment where people can feel safe, build confidence and begin working towards greater independence.
48 Hour Housing Aim
Safe
Accommodation
Individual Support
Greater
Independence
The aim is to help each person strengthen their skills, recognise their progress and become more able to manage independently. We support people to move forward at a pace that feels realistic and sustainable for them.
Consistent support can help residents rebuild confidence, establish structure and feel more secure in their day to day lives. Small, steady steps can make everyday situations feel more manageable and help create a greater sense of control.
We encourage people to engage with health services, attend appointments and develop routines that support their physical and emotional wellbeing. This may also include help understanding what support is available and how to access it.
Daily Living
Skills
Residents may receive support with cooking, cleaning, shopping, organisation and the responsibilities involved in maintaining a home. These everyday skills can help people feel more capable, settled and independent over time.
Bespoke
Support
Support is shaped around the person rather than a fixed programme. We take time to understand what matters most to them, what challenges they are facing and where practical guidance may help them make progress.
Safe
Accommodation
A stable home can provide security, routine and the breathing space someone may need after a period of homelessness, uncertainty or unsafe housing. Having somewhere safe to return to can create a stronger foundation for positive change.
Health and Wellbeing
More Than Just a Place To Live
Supported housing combines safe accommodation with practical support that helps people manage everyday life, feel more settled and begin moving forward. The support provided will vary from person to person, depending on their circumstances, strengths and goals.
Confidence and Routine
Support Shaped Around The Individual
We support adults from a wide range of backgrounds who may need both accommodation and practical support. Some people may be facing homelessness, while others may be leaving an institution, living somewhere unsafe or struggling to maintain their current accommodation.
Every referral is considered individually and without judgement. We look at the whole person, including their circumstances, support needs, risks, strengths and the type of environment in which they are most likely to feel safe and settled.

Practical Support For Everyday Life
Our support is designed to help people maintain their accommodation, manage day to day responsibilities and work towards their own goals. The type and level of support will depend on the individual and what they need to feel more stable and confident.
We work alongside residents rather than doing everything for them. This helps people build practical skills, take greater control of their lives and make progress at a pace that feels realistic.
We aim to make the process straightforward and supportive. Every placement begins with a referral and assessment so we can understand the person’s circumstances and consider whether our accommodation and support may be suitable.
Referral
A referral can be made by the person themselves or by a professional, organisation or service supporting them. The information provided helps us understand their current housing situation, support needs and any immediate concerns.
A Clear Path From Referral To Support
Assessment
We carefully review the referral, discuss the person’s needs, risks, preferences and goals, and may speak with them or other professionals involved. This helps us consider whether our accommodation and support could be suitable.
Placement
Where a suitable placement is available, we explain the next steps, complete the required checks and help the person prepare to move in. Ongoing support then begins, helping them settle, feel secure and work towards greater independence.
A Stable Environment
for Progress
A safe, calm and well managed home can make a significant difference to someone who has experienced instability. We aim to provide accommodation where residents feel respected, supported and able to focus on moving forward.
Our team maintains regular contact with residents and visits every property weekly. These visits allow us to provide support, check wellbeing, monitor the accommodation and identify any concerns that may need further attention.
Our approach includes:
-
Weekly Property Visits
-
Resident Wellbeing Checks
-
Clear House Expectations
-
Regular Property Oversight
-
Prompt Issue Reporting
-
Support With Daily Living
-
Safe Shared Environments
-
Ongoing Risk Awareness

Important Emergency Notice
Able Social Housing is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, at risk of harm, or needs urgent medical or police assistance, contact emergency services immediately on 999. If someone is homeless or at risk of homelessness, they should also contact their local council homelessness team as soon as possible.
There is no single route into supported housing and no one size fits all way to provide support. We take time to understand the person, what they have experienced and what they would like to achieve.
Every person has a different background, set of experiences and level of support need. We consider the information provided as a whole so that any decision reflects the individual rather than relying on a one size fits all approach.
Individual
Support
A safe and settled home depends on clear expectations and mutual respect. We help residents understand house rules, personal responsibilities and how their actions can affect others, creating a more positive living environment.

Everyone's Journey is Different
We treat every resident with care, fairness and respect, recognising their right to be heard and involved in decisions. Our approach encourages choice and responsibility while protecting each person’s dignity throughout their support.
Respect and Dignity
Positive change does not happen in the same way or at the same speed for everyone. We recognise small steps, encourage consistency and help each person move forward at a pace that feels realistic, manageable and sustainable.

Need Housing Urgently?
Suddenly having nowhere safe to stay can be deeply unsettling. Our emergency accommodation route is intended for people facing an immediate housing crisis, including those who are homeless, at risk of losing their accommodation or unable to remain safely where they are.
Each urgent enquiry is considered carefully, with attention given to the person’s immediate safety, circumstances, support needs and any known risks. Providing as much clear information as possible helps our team understand the situation and respond appropriately.
Any placement will depend on assessment, suitability and the accommodation available at the time. While we cannot guarantee an immediate offer, we will treat every urgent enquiry with care and explain the next steps as clearly as possible.
Submit Your Enquiry
We understand that asking for help can feel difficult, especially when someone is facing uncertainty about where they will live. Please share as much information as you can so our team can understand the situation and review the most suitable next steps.
Every enquiry is treated with care, respect and sensitivity. You do not need to have every answer before getting in touch, and we may contact you if any further information is needed.
